Figure 1: Sword presented to General McPeak from his Greek

counterpart in 1992. The overall length of the sword is 30.5

inches. The engraved brass plaque reads “Presented to - General

Merrill A. McPeak – Chief Staff United States Air Force – by – Lt.

General Athanassios Stathias – Chief Hellenic Air Force

Staff – July 1992

Figure 2: Hand carved Hawaiian Tiki presented to General Merrill A McPeak, USAF

Chief of Staff. The Tiki was presented to the general by the officers and enlisted

personnel of the Hawaiian National Guard. The plaque reads “Kukua’Ilimoku – War

God King Kamahameha I – Presented to – General Merrill A. McPeak – Commander

In Chief Pacific Air Forces – In Appreciation – The Officers and Enlisted Personnel

Of the Hawaiian National Guard – 5 November 1990”
